BRATs :D

Seeing how much fun my friend had while being a BRAT made me want to join as well. So I send in my application. Tbh, I didn't think I could make it through. Imo, my essay was just meh. But somehow, a month later, I got the email saying I got chosen. I was so happy I felt like I was on cloud nine.. That was until my parents said NO. That was all it took. I came crashing down to earth. No matter how hard I tried to persuade my dad, he wouldn't let me. I know he's just being worried. But, as an 18 year old kid, I'm pretty sure I could handle taking the train and taxi by myself though I'm not sure how safe a taxi in Malaysia would be. Also, skipping 3 days of college isn't that bad. I know how important studies are. I'll be equally worried if I can't catch up on my studies.

Either way, I kinda lost hope after that long conversation with my dad, trying to convince him to let me go. That night, I prayed to God, praying that He could make my parents say yes, praying that whatever happens, may it be His will.

I talked to my lecturers the next day. Most of them were supportive of me even though I would be skipping their class. All praise and glory to God when my dad finally gave me the permission to go. I was so relieved because this kind of opportunities don't come knocking on one's door often.

Having gone through this workshop, I've really learnt how much work a person has to put in just to publish an article. I really enjoyed this experience. Being a photographer for my team, I got to realise how much I actually love it and wouldn't mind doing it for the rest of my life. That being said, I still would've love to try writing one article. No guarantees it would be good though.

So yes, this has been the BEST camp I've ever been to. So much friendship were created. I was blessed with the best roommates I could ask for - Sara and Shan De. The three of us would always be laughing when together. Our personalities just goes well with each other. Don't be jealous, guys. :P I will make sure I keep in touch with you guys so make sure you do to! All the memories we had together (especially Sinister) will always be treasured. :D

Oh how I wish the camp would last longer. How I wish we didn't have to be separated by the different parts of the country we stay in. Nevertheless, I would forever treasure this bond we have. The BRATs family will always be close to my heart.

Sara Kong Zi Ling, it was you that I was closest to at camp. So a special shout out to you for being an awesome friend. I think I never had someone I could laugh so crazy with. Please don't forget about me and make sure you keep your promise of hanging out together. ;)
