I thought that the idea about exploring the idea of what is before life, what is beyond life, and most importantly, the meaning of life in the here and now really resonates with us no matter what age we're in. And just like Joe Gardner, we may think that it's the one thing in life that gives us meaning, the one thing that we're good at doing .   Yes, I know, there are already plenty of bad reviews out there that might stop you from even giving the movie a shot. Indeed, there are many things I could say about the storyline, about the lack of arc and character development, and really, just bad writing.  BUT today, I'm not here to talk about that. I'm here to talk about something much deeper, something closer to heart that most movies try to insert in. What is the underlying message of the movie if you take away the action, the romance, and the drama? [Spoiler alert ⚠] In the beginning of the movie, we see a pouty Diana crying "No, no... but..." because she was unhappy that her chance of winning was taken away from her. Her aunt and mentor, Antiope, who is also a wise and skilled general, then gives her an important life lesson: "You cheated, Diana. That is the truth. With the release of the movie Frozen 2 in the cinemas, I’ve watched it for a total of three times within the month. It’s not just the amazingly detailed animation that I’ve come to appreciate. It’s also things like character development, storyline and the depth of symbolism that the movie portrays. For me, the character of Elsa has always been close to my heart and especially more this time around. Elsa started off not knowing who she was back in Frozen, having to hide her powers because of so much fear and expectation to act and be a certain way for the sake of the kingdom. Be the good girl you always have to be, Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know. Eventually, there came a time when she had to “let it go” and we know the history of what went down. Fast forward six years later, we see that the sisterly bond between these two Arendellian sisters still remains strong though Anna might be borderline overprotective. The Little Prince This animation is really beautiful with a combination of stop motion incorporated into the film. The message itself was really heartfelt and I was truly pulled in by the emotional aspect of the story. Growing up to be an adult can really cause us to loose our inner child in us. Through this film, we are reminded that there shouldn't be a mould or rather a specific set of characteristics for us to be a successful adult. Without the childlike approach in us to things, there would be no happiness, no creativity, no meaning in life whatsoever. This story also helps explain really well the transition of life, of how we can learn to let someone dear to us go peacefully knowing that they are still with us in our minds, in our memories.
