Pleasant Surprise

Hai blog aku! Lama tak jumpa~

Ahaha so it has been two months since I've opened and viewed this blog. Definitely felt longer though. I think one of the main reason I haven't resulted in going to blogspot to dump my feelings is because there was less of a need to find a place to write everything down when I have someone I can talk to, face to face, as having physical connection is definitely better.

So today I had another meeting with the CDM youth ministry again. Always happy to see them and wow, it really was a surprise that they actually baked a cake, sang song for me, and gave me presents at the end of it. Special thanks to Steph for the oreo cake and the gift, and to Nat, my buddy, for the card and the obvious 'what cakes do you like' questions. ♥

One thing it dawned on me was that I think for the longest time I've always wanted my friends to celebrate my birthday with me without the need for me to suggest or prompt (basically a surprise one la). I never thought this group of family that I've slowly grown attached to would be the first to do so. Thank you guys. Cries. I'm honestly touched and I teared a bit la cause writing this in the middle of the night brings out the feels.

UPDATE OF EXTRA CELEBRATIONS (PRIOR 2ND JULY):
1) Banana pineapple cake for everyone in choir that was born in January till July thus far!

2) Fancy lunch with chechi and my fellow Wong at Manhattan Fish Market on the eve. Thanks for spending me! Definitely felt the love~

A few days ago, I was watching the Korean drama, Law School, and a particular case disturbed me and remained with me for some time. It was one on physical abuse and rape by the person whom the character loved and trusted. I felt a deep sense of injustice because I know that this is very real in the world we live in, and many women suffer from the pain, betrayal, humiliation, and the lack of believe of others. Tonight as I lay on my bed, I am reminded of all the times I have encountered some form of being sexually harassed and nothing was done about it. I also think of the sexual harassments that my mother, my sister, and my female cousin all went through during their younger days, yet none of us knew what to do about it then.
